Here's another one from Blackadder: Draco Sinister chapter four: "Are you threatening me?" said the demon in a hissing voice. "So it can hurt you," said Draco, sounding pleased. "You can't be certain," the demon said, looking shifty. "No, it's just a wild stab in the dark. Which is what you'll be getting in about one minute if you don't start being a bit more helpful." Blackadder II, episode one, Bells Crone: Two things, my lord, must thee know of the Wisewoman. First, she is ... a woman, and second, she is ... Edmund: .. wise? Crone: You do know her then? Edmund: No, just a wild stab in the dark which is incidentally what you'll be getting if you don't start being a bit more helpful. Do you know where she lives? I got the script from this site. In the version on Schnoogle, this quote is unattributed specifically. I haven't read this fic since I was 13 and that (and numerous other quotes already mentioned) stood out as soon I heard the original because me and my sister listened to Blackadder audio-tapes religiously for like, a year after we first discovered it. When I first read this I had not yet discovered Blackadder and so when I heard it in there I was quite surprised, but read her disclaimer about hoarding quotes so was not too bothered. Probably because I didn't know the full scale of what was going on. It's odd, when I first started writing (godawful) fanfic when I was fifteen (not in HP, in a band fandom) (I no longer do, I'm more of a lurker) I thought it was OK to include quotes from your favourite shows because she did and she was so well-liked and nobody seemed to be telling her off about it. So I did it too. I wonder if there are other Hope this helps. mousie Miss Molotov. Post a comment in response: |
