AngieJ apologizes

As in a real apology. I salute her for being the bigger person and taking responsibility for her actions.

Said it over in the other post, but I'll say it again.

That was a real apology and it showed genuine class. Well done, Angie J.

It pleases me that there indeed ARE people in the world who can admit they did something wrong insteed of turning life into one giant pity party...

My name is Heidi and my life? It is pain... pity me!!!

I was one of those offended by her using her religion to paint herself morally superior to her accusers, but the girl practices what she preaches. Good on her.

In my upbringing I was taught, when you done something wrong or hurt someone that a simple "I'm sorry" is not enough that you must humble yourself and right the wrong.

I commend AngieJ for making a real apology, she actually righted the wrong and for that I say she has class and humility which you rarely see these days.

I would have respected her just for an apology to the fandom... but extending her regrets to her family, associates, and to Hamilton's husband? That's above and beyond what most people would do. Major kudos to her.

*nods to all the above* Between her, Heidi, and CC, I thought hers was the most blatant case of plagiarism. Her explanation does make sense, however, and I can't look down on anyone who has enough guts to actually own up to what came of it.

And independently contacting the author's family, rather than kicking and screaming. Wow.

*applauds* Incredibly classy, and certainly above and beyond what she needed to do.

but at the time, I thought that all fanfiction was plagiarism, anyway

I'm still amazed at this, though. Is this notion really this prevalent? Or is it something about HP fandom? I've never seen anyone in another fandom say this, but I've seen it multiple times since the plagiarism scandals broke. Still completely baffled why people would think that. It's still *your writing*, isn't it? So why does it count less?
