Love it, Ebony. Now THAT'S integrity.

After reading this apology, Heidi's almost-apology, and yes, even the post above in regards to who the threats were directed to -- I can't help but remember that the person who needs to own up to this the most is STILL the person who has most profited from it, and that's Cassandra Clare.

It appears that she's going to let Heidi and Ebony go this alone. Am I the only one terribly disturbed by this? Forget death threats and plagiarism. This disgusts me. How the HELL could Cassandra Clare sit back and watch two of her closest FRIENDS go through this publicly while she hides behind her agent, her publisher and her contract? How could she not stand with Heidi, who, supposed death threats or not, continues to suffer through a family tragedy none of us would wish on our worst enemies?

I make no apologies for anyone's behaviour in this post, but until Cassandra Clare comes out publicly on her livejournal and confronts these accusations full-force, instead of playing games and evading the spotlight, she is not good enough to lick Heidi or Ebony's boots. What a coward. I have the utmost respect for Ebony and undeniable sympathy for Heidi, but nothing but contempt and disgust for Cassandra Clare. May she get all that's coming to her.

I, for one, hope we remember her place in all of this, stat.

	I just hoped people had enough intelligence to assume. It's like going into your favorite, regular coffee store and expecting the employees there to give you extra whipped cream, and it happens most of the time but not always. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	I just hoped people had enough intelligence to assume. Yep, I know. But if you hadn't been anonymous, if there weren't still people out there who honest-to-god believe her pro writing career was well-earned and had come about completely honestly (and Christ on a pair of roller skates, there are), I wouldn't have touched it.
