The Wank That Broke Journalfen
Or made them adopt the new code from LJ PDQ.

I'm talking about, of course, Crystalwank.

I wasn't there for the entire thing, but I do remember Crystal's "friend" who came to her defense, and "My hed is pasted on yay!" Beyond that, I have no highlights to offer to people who subscribed long after this epic -- and I use the word deliberately -- wank.

Man, I'm so sad I missed that. I've read the reportd in the [info]fandom_wank archives, but all the pics are gone. Does anybody still have the pics that started it all? Pweese?

Actually, I think this image that [info]cesare uses in the tutorial is another of the images in question. (The photoshopped/dewatermarked photo that Crystal claimed to have the original of.)

I am still in the first page and I already find this wank fantastic. Too bad so many links are broken tough. Anyone still has her 'art' and 'photos' uploaded somewhere?

Also, do we know what she is doing now? Is she still in fandom?

Oh man. My first wank. I didn't even know what wank was. But I'm an anonymouse around page...gods, I don't even know. Somewhere in there, one lone comment about the littlest armadillo wake. I think I offered to bring food, but not long afterwards was when it all ended due to crash. Alas.

May I take this opportunity to remind people that the quote they find so funny is funny by dint or purposeful misspellings, and that it is actually:
"MY HED IZ PASTEDE ON YAY" - note, iz, not is.

I've noticed no one seems to know, so I wanted to point it out. I like the original Z spelling much better myself. :-)

Eh, judging from what I know of FW, half those comments are people saying 'boobies!' or 'I like your icon.' FW shouldn't let anyone post unless they've earned their diploma in how to properly point-and-deplore.

((maybe I'm just having a really bad day, and the disappearing act of what I was reading not only from here (which was a hard decision, and I'm not disputing that) but now from where it was moved--but since it has moved from michelaecks' journal, maybe the post that has comments disabled saying there's something we should read at another journal that now does not have that content there can be... removed? It's like holding something tasty over a dog's head and repeatedly moving it back away, if you know what I mean. --And yes, it's not your fault in the least, but the more time I spend looking for something to read when I'm grumpy and having an icky day, the more the post that says 'hey, go to *this* journal for something worth reading' that doesn't actually have anything but a 'I removed the content, no you can't comment on this post' post is driving me slowly insane.

I guess I'm just saying, if the stuff isn't even at the journal anymore, do we need the post saying that it is? Or will that further alienate the person who posted it in the first place?))

God, how well I remember this. I'd heard of F_W before, of course, but it wasn't till the hysteria that was Crystalwank that I actually ever read a wank report. Those were the days, man.

Though really, I gave up on the wank itself fairly early and started reading over at the metaquotes summaries instead. It was far easier to keep track of things there.

And now I'm getting all verklempt. *sniffs*
