And, let's not forget the fact that CC-who-couldn't-be-bothered-to-log-in also posted on a situation she's only slightly acknowledged in the past.
I missed most of the Michaelaecks saga, but perhaps CL is right and Heidi et al felt this was their opportunity to reclaim their reputations. But, honestly, do they really think they can salvage their reputations at this point? Even if she did not know/plan this, I find it astonishing that a lawyer would keep such personal information (about one of her friends, nonetheless) up on her journal.
It's like the US November elections HP fandom style! Misdirect the public and you've won an election--except in this case, I vote CL!
