I learned how to drive in San Francisco and I haven't driven there in quite some time. Munich drivers brag that they drive like Houstonians to Americans. I lived there in the mid 80s(ex was military and stationed there). The lovely thing about Munich and Boston was both cities have great public transportation systems. I never needed to drive in either place, and I quite enjoyed that. Houston is just too many people all the time on the road, and it's bloody huge. I've driven through it, and it takes well over an hr and a half to drive from one end to the other(east to west ends) and if you don't know the freeways it's real easy to get lost! My daughter lives there and will tell you 3hr commutes are common, which well there's no way I will live with that. And like most cities in TX the public transportation system is not good. I live in Austin, and bitch enough about traffic here, when my longest commute ever was 45 minutes each way, so 3hrs just to get somewhere is something I DON'T want to deal with.
