	Possibly she purchased a non-permanent account, and a namechange token, and switched the name over? You can't transfer "permanence" per se, but you can change a name, and if you have two accounts and want to switch the names, as long as you own both and buy the namechange tokens, LJ will do it for you. Huh. That *is* weird. I suppose it's possible that she had another account made in 2003 (given the sockpuppetry in fact it would hardly be surprising), and switched the names and flist with that one, so the current dejaspirit account just *looks* like it's the same one?

Or possibly she just asked LJ support to transfer the permanence to a different account and they obliged, despite that not being specifically spelled out as a possibility in the FAQs.

I had a friend who had two accounts and she did a request and they combined the accounts, without her having to pay for the rename tokens. It might be LJ's attempt at damage control over the negative buzz with the company. The Permanent account people seem to be kinda pissed off too, at the way the company's being run, so they may be trying to placate the masses. Or something. Though looking at her account, it's still permanent too.

This is all very confusing. *goes back to bed*

	No, they're not making a fuss. It just seems like a lot of them are upset over the fact they bought a permanent account and they'll most likely end up moving if LJ keeps messing up and doing things like adding the nav bar, that type of thing. (Reply to this)(Parent)

	That's most likely. Someone I know asked support for advice about how to go about changing journal names so she could swap her perm account from one LJ to another (the suggesed procedure in the FAQ is rather arcane), and they just moved the perm status for her for free right away.
