Non-fandom media picks up the MsScribe Saga.
Guess who gets a mention?

Go Charlotte! Go Charlotte! Go Charlotte!

It's just like reading a history of the CIA, only with less cross-dressing.

Best line. LOL

I knew we needed Emerson. But Vance will do in a pinch.

The article was written by a shipper, it seems, judging from the e-mail adress in the sig. I am doubly amused.

I got the impression the email was made up for that specific article. E.g. this one by the same author has a different topic-related email at the same domain.

I have no idea, but check out her email addy:

Annalee Newitz (H/Hrpwned@techsploitation.com) is a surly media nerd.

Wikpedia article on Annalee Newitz here.

I heard her being quoted this morning on a brief NPR piece about online communities. Sadly, Ms Scribe was not mentioned.

It's times like these when I seriously wonder what Ms. Scribe's reaction to all this is now that everyone has proof that she's an absolute nut job.

Oh! I read her columns pretty regularly here in the SF Bay Area (she contributes to the "alternative" weeklies) and she's definitely made it clear she's familiar with fandom. How cool!

Whomever she is, she knows enough about HP fandom [but yet didn't differentiate between LJ and JF?] and lives in the South Bay.

The whole thing has been chronicled in an anonymously written book about Ms. Scribe's rise and fall: The Ms. Scribe Story: An Unauthorized Fandom Biography (www.journalfen.net/users/charlottelennox/).

Um.... posting a multi-part story in your journal is now writing a book? COOL!

I especially like the last line though. One morning, I will wake up and feel the urge to SOCK!

Oooh, can I put my money on the legal threats coming from Heidi? No way she's gonna let that writer get away with stating FA ignored evidence! Even though, y'know, they did...

It's probably just me but there is a lot of the story missing. Aside that e-mail should be something like: msscribepwned@techsploitation.com or sockpuppetspwned@techsploitation.com

But H/HR because of Msscribe, seriously? I thought JKR wrote HBP but maybe she's too a sockpuppet of Msscribe.

Cassie Claire updates her lj

"I apologize for shutting my LJ down to comments; I've been sick since the beginning of June, pretty much...So I wasn't really up for LJ modding, or much of anything else."

I hate to doubt that people are ever ill---but could this have been a wee bit of avoidance of the msscribe wankdom? And how much "modding" does it take to write a post saying "man, were we wrong" and lock the comments?

How utterly bizarre.
