| About: | Old wanks never die, they just become catchphrases. And sometimes, people want to reminisce with others. Because they're old wanks, however, they're not really suitable for posting about on ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/community.gif){kind=small} fandom_wank or fwgreatesthits. People who posted those wanks and entires may get irritated at having their inboxes filled up with new comments. So what's a Mean Girl From High School to do?Post it here. That's what this comm is for, along with memoirs of old fandom scandals and Fan Bites Dog stories. Rules of the Road: 1. Bad penny does not endorse, encourage or participate in stalking. Bad Penny readers are expected NOT to stalk, harass or encourage the stalking or harassment of B_P subjects. Going around saying "In the name of bad_penny, burn the witch!" is not on. Coming back here to brag about doing so is even more not on, and makes the comm owner ... upset. If you decide not to read a fic, buy a novel, or attend a con because of something you read here, that's your decision. We're not your mother, your conscience, or your therapist. 2: Documentation, people. If you want to do a tell-all about a fan's or group of fans' ethical wrongdoing, make sure you can back it up. Links, screenshots, sources. "Show me the evidence!" to paraphrase William Bar None Floyd (#28, RB, SF 49ers)and Cuba Gooding. "Did you hear what Suzie Sexpert told Poppy Z Brite? I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you!" won't cut it. 3. Otherwise, this is not a place for you to air your personal grudges against other communities or people. "She's a bitch and hates RPS!" "They hate my 'ship!" won't fly here. This isn't the place for your thoughts on yaoi. 4. The Mods expect you to act like adults, even if this is a departure from your normal standards. We take a particularly dim view of relentlessly argumentative behavior that disrupts the comm. If you have any question as to the sort of tactics that grate, please refer to this. 5. Posting is moderated for the time being. 6 There is (still ) no rule #6. 7 Questions about the rules should be directed to at: badpennymods@gmail.com. If need be, a discussion post for bad_penny members only will be set up. 8. Journalfen is an 18+ site. As such, posters, readers and lurkers should expect to occasionally run across language and images that are not work-safe. bad_penny is one these places. Yes, Virginia, boobies!icons, two men boffing a watermelon and ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} footsie's adorable Buttsex! icons are fine. Goatse, tubgirl and the rest of that ilk are not permitted. Also not permitted are depictions of graphic violence, maimed/dead bodies or parts thereof. If you're not sure, stroll through pyratejenni's pictures. If you're still not sure, ask. 9. Bad Penny is not in the business of supplying crosses to every internet martyr. A word from the JF admins, on the handling of IPs: If you're contacted by the authorities, you are absolutely permitted to give out IP numbers. In fact, if there is information about possible death threats on a community you moderate, I'd encourage you to backup screenshots of those pages in case you need them for some reason. I don't have time to look now, but I'm not sure whose post it is, and if it's possible those posts could be lost to a deletion, but I'd encourage caching them and saving screenshots just in case. I forget where the hell it is, but somewhere in one of our legal documents, we mention that if required by law or a law enforcement representative, we will share any information requested. By extension, moderators are permitted to do the same thing. If you (or any JF member, for that matter) is the one to initiate contact with the authorities, we do ask that we be given a heads-up so we can be prepared if we're contacted. And if you're contacted by them, can you give us a heads-up about that as soon as you can, too? 11. Last but not least -- follow Journalfen's ToS. Really, gang, this one should be a no-brainer.
