Um... wow.
(Via innocence_jihad over on LJ)

While users are demanding answers from LJ in the news community (and elsewhere), LJ employee burr86 is somehow finding time to post the very first comment in a post making fun of Strikethrough in another community.

Edit: BAHLEETED. But wait, screencap of burr86's comment (and the original post) here.

And the mod of the comm where it all began attempts to lay the smackdown in her comm and she also e-mailed LJ to express her displeasure with burr86 using her community to express his displeasure with fandom.

Stupid question but does anyone know why in the burr86 thread? I can't read any of the comments (in expanded-thread form) after havenstar's post (which follows the two macros).

I clicked on "thread" in the top comment (burr's) but they simply won't expand. *feels dumb* Thanks.

TORN. I like [info]pirate_eggie but I also think LJ is being a bit asshole-ish. Not that fandom's doing a very good job of dealing with the mess, of course, but it seems less like it's making fun of how they complain and more saying that their complaints aren't valid.

I thought it was a pretty funny comment. And the man has balls to post it under his own LJ name instead of sockpuppeting. I agree with the above poster who suggested he was drunk. I'd probably be tempted to do the same thing once I got a few cold ones in me. I picture a bunch of drunk LJ staffers gathered around burr68, slapping him on the back and yelling, "post it! Post it!"

(I'd kill to be a fly on the wall at LJ staff meetings when these wankstorms go down. I can only imagine the sort of jokes they make about fandom.)

Are ads more profitable than a couple thousand fandom journals (most of which are probably free or ad-sponsored accounts anyway)?  Burr86 and LJ/6A might have very little to lose by pissing off users they see as less-than-desirable.
