Apparently, AOL's spamblocker is now blocking Journalfen comments instead of lj ones. Can we resist the wank?

I got grouchy about it, because life is easier when you've got Email notification of someone asking for links before you're sitting there looking at the reply in a 500+comment thread.

*nod nods* I can definetly understand that.

I'm getting my notifications ( www.care2.com ) but it definetly sucks when you don't get your comment notes.

I'm not too sure how many people will care here though since most of the time the topics here aren't as personal as the ones on livejournal (in a generalisation for individiduals kind of way)

But I hope something can be done so its back on track~

From what I've gathered, it works like this:
AOL has a big fat 'report spam' button next to each mail you read, and if you get enough people who press that one (accidentally, or because they are clueless and don't recognize their notifications, or don't want them and can think of no better way to get rid of them), then the result is that AOL gets enough complaints about that particular sender and reacts.

And in turn, they want lots of complaints from people who miss their notifications in order to act again and undo the block, but there's no big and shiny button for that.

In related i_wank material...the option on my user info page to have comments emailed to me is grayed out. I've never been able to select it for as long as I've had this account. (Only about a month now, but still...)

Does anyone with greater Journalfen knowledge than I know why that might be?

Do you mean the "get message board replies" box or do you mean the one where you can get comments that you make mailed to you? Because if it's the latter, mine's greyed out, too. Not that I'd ever want to use that option, but to each his own. If you want to see any recent comments you've made or received, you can just go to http://www.journalfen.net/tools/recent_comments.bml
