[info]moonjaguar: Tura Satana (7/10/38 – 2/4/2011)

Tura Satana, best known for her role as the Porsche-driving killer in Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! in 1965, died of heart failure in Reno. (these links are work safe. Some sources and many images are borderline-to-definite NSFW).

I can't believe I missed this one-- maybe it was the upcoming James Dean 80th birthday plus all the local Reagan 100th news spam that knocked it off my radar. I thought she was in the middle of or about to appear at a con somewhere.

[info]brennalarose: Author, Dancer, Choreographer Jeanne Robinson (1948-2010)

http://www.sfsite.com/news/2010/05/31/obituary-jeanne-robinson/

Author Jeanne Robinson (b.1948) died on May 30. Last year, Robinson was diagnosed with a virulent form of biliary cancer which has not responded to treatment. Robinson, the wife of Spider Robinson, co-authored the Stardance novels and won the Nebula and Hugo Awards in 1978 for the original novella, “Stardance.” Robinson has also been a dancer and choreographer. At the time of her death, she was working with James Sposto and David Gerrold to bring Stardance to the screen.

I'm in shock. I didn't even know she was ill. She's always been one of my inspirations.

Rest in peace, Jeanne. May heaven have all the "Blessings" you can drink.
