Well would you look at this?
Premiere magazine has a cover feature on the hobbit actors. Part of the article is scanned at TORn, and from the first page was this:
"Am I straight? Am I gay? Why am I confused?" Monaghan says, imitating his fellow hobbit.
"Why won't Dom touch me anymore?" Astin says.
"Why do I feel this way?" Monaghan echoes.
"Why won't he look at me that way?" Astin whines. "For the first three months, it was constant attention -- and now what?"
"Do you know if Billy's single?" Monaghan recalls Wood saying.
Oh, I think I love those boys. And the reaction's already started at the Pony:

Um....nice article. Dom is making fun of the homosexual rumors again, as are the others. Don't they ever quit?

Instead of painting themselves to be homophobic assholes, a simple denial would suffice.
I'm just waiting for the DLR response. So far the tinhats are keeping mum. Maybe this falls under the category of things that will never be spoken about because it doesn't fit the Tinhat Unifying Theory of the Universe?

God those pics are great. Love the front cover.
Noticed it was done August 30th, 24 days after Elijah's op. He looked fighting fit in those pics.
The set piece interview made me smile. It's not been set up by the reporter but the celebs use it as a way of getting a message over. Wonder why Elijah didn't take part in it - he left the table for the loo presumably -isn't he comfortable doing this stuff?
This isn't the place to say what I feel about the interview as a whole, they will do what they feel they want to do.
However Sean's long quote confused me somewhat. I'm not bashing him but I would like other people's views privately if necessary.
I'm bi in a gay relationship..and maybe I'm being over sensitive here but bear with me.
quote]"The power of the bonds that we've all talked about to so many different reporters is unimpeachable" Astin says[/quote]
Yep, agree with you there Sean

And I think people who are interested in Lord of the Rings have one of two extreme attitudes about it.

Erm..okayy..lets see what he says...(don't actually believe there are only 2 attitudes but...)

One is they just love the idea of the bonds that were forged amongst the cast
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
oh dear god, yes. It's what made the films work so well. This is good Sean.

The other extreme is this sort of dismissive, out of hand 'It couldn't be that good' 'That's a good story but I'm sure there's a more seedy truth'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pardon? not heard anyone say in all the fansites I've visited, in fact all the interviews I've read that anyone has dismissed the bonds between them...unless we are talking about the rumours which say that some bonds are stronger than others in different ways.
Someone please tell me that Sean isn't linking the gay rumours to 'a more seedy truth' Could it be slash ? But at C4 Sean did say he was ok with that if it didn't hurt anyone.
So I'm confused. Hoping very much Sean's seedy truth is something else entirely.
Hmm... could it be maybe the seedy truth is the Evil Sean propaganda spread by the tinhats themselves? The rumours of rifts between the guys? I do believe it's flown right over Britanon's head.
Reality check, table 1!

Agree with you there, Britanon.
I was thinking about the whole joking attitude about Elijah - that it is very similar to Dom's 'jokes' at C4. Way back in August. I'm also thinking about the warning that there would be things being said that we wouldn't like but that there would be 'reasons to be happy for them.'
Wonder if bringing it up in a joking way was a basic plan to sort of to prepare the public for what will eventually come. And in Premiere it worked but at C4 it didn't?
So now Sean's in on the big Dom and Elijah coming out party? Did y'all change the canon again without telling us? Tsk, tsk...
