He basically admitted to fucking with the fans. He said something along the lines of "everytime [he or elijah] got asked about the rumours they wouldn't say one way or another" but now he's coming clean about it.

Really peculiar looking guy. Has an extreme example of what could be called a negroid nose that looks especially odd on an albino. He looks just like a Norfin troll.

I never realized he had such a bad speech impediment until now.

So we have a denial of the Domlijah stuff, and Dombilly have denied the idea of being a couple. The only other "big" LOTR coupling that we haven't got a denial from is the Sean/Elijah one. Hmmm...interesting. ;)

Granted, they have never been asked. And being that they play Frodo and Sam, one of the most sexually charged male pairings in film, that makes a lot of sense. Or not... ;)

This might be the thing I dislike most...every time something contradicts the fantasy, you get this 'oh, of course this happened, I can't believe it didn't happen sooner. It's all publicity, of course." Because yeah, Dom in particular is SO famous that his being gay or not is going to sway some 80 year old Academy voter who probably has never even heard his name.

Eh, it's just business as usual. I wouldn't be surprised if there's more of this stuff coming over the next couple of weeks. Oscar ballots go out Weds. and the deadline is the 24th. After Ted's column and their little hug onstage at the Globes, I wouldn't be surprised if things kinda went apeshit. Look at it this way: if they wanted to deny for their own reasons, they'd have done so a long time ago, and not kept things going as long as they have. Knowing what a scandal could do to the films I can't see them playing up the rumors just as a joke. They have far too much respect for Peter and everyone else to do that. The last thing they need is Billy Crystal making crude Frodo and Sam jokes onstage at the Kodak.

The good thing is that there's only a few more weeks of this left. Which isn't to say they're going to come out the day after the Oscars-- I don't expect that. But at least by May or June the overwhelming pressure will have significantly waned, and whatever they do will be their own choice, and not a choice they have to make for the sake of someone else.
