*BANNED!*

We don't ban on personality, we ban on behavior.

Once upon a time, hobbsy stepped over a line once too many and was banned. Once upon right now she-- Oops-- did it again, with the same result.

Members, passers-by and MsA alike, I am asking you to please not feed the troll.

If Hobbsy continues to post comments, her IP will be reported to the JF mods so she can be dealt with accordingly. We would dislike having to do this, and especially having to do this for more than her, if other people join in the back and forth arguing.

I think the message is clear?

ETA: look, people, the mods don't get comment notifications for posts we don't originate, and we frequently don't look in on older posts (or sometimes recent posts, depending on how busy we are). If you see clearly inappropriate behavior happening on this community, drop one of us a line, that would be swell.

Nothing like discovering completely unwarranted accusations of pedophilia on a forum you moderate days after they took place in a thread more than a week old. Ugh. Hobbsy is just the gift that keeps on giving.

Though I have to say, if we ever had any doubt that MsA reads here more closely than the most of the rest of us, that's been effectively laid to read.

Not really. I peruse about once or twice a month, and get involved if there's anything of real interest. Otherwise I just leave y'all to your own devices.

MsA was. I couldn't quite follow it, except there was talk about pre-LotR gay!Lij rumors, which led to "Lij was a kid pre-LotR" which led to NAMBLA and suddenly Hobbsy is saying MsA might have a stash of child porn. I am too lazy to find the link.

gay men=serial killers was SingBluSilver/hajile/EvilE/Angeles/Lailari. She and Hobbsy were very close for awhile, though I believe, based on something else that was linked here awhile, they recently had a falling out.

My deepest apologies, Ana. I thought at the time that this popped up in a reply to my comment that things were getting out of hand with Hobbsy's actionable accusations of pedophilia and wondered if I should inform a mod. I should have done so.

I know you're addressing ana, but since you reference my comment - really no need for apologies. Thankfully, Dl_anon very rarely needs modly intervention, and we all take such a hands off approach, generally preferring to let the community self-moderate, that there's no reason you should have thought to contact one of us. Honestly, before this post, I doubt a large portion of the community even knew who the mods were. Except in extreme cases like this, it's generally been more of a position in name only.

ana's post, which she and I discussed beforehand (as we discussed banning Hobbsy before I did so) wasn't meant as any kind of chastisement - it was just an "okay, clearly sometimes we're going to get serious whackjobs here, and it'll be a great help if we can get people to report that to us when it happens."
