May it please the judges, I bring before the court the matter of Heidi Tandy. The defendant stands accused of willful blindness, asshattery in the first degree, and insincerity in the first degree. I do not bring this case forward as a result of any grudge or quarrel with the defendant, but out of respect for the rule of law and a desire to prevent a public e-lynching.

Proposed sentence: that the defendant, if found guilty, be stripped of BNF status and required to sit in the corner of fandom and think about her actions. Suggestions for other sentences are welcome.

What sayeth the court?

YES. The court demands to know where the kittens are?

The court has been making cute icons non-stop since that post.

If it were up to me to dish out the punishment, I'd rather condemn Heidi to writing drabbles exclusively about Ginny Weasley's many virtues.

I think this might be taking fandom_court a wee bit too seriously, though. Let's just sip daiquiris (made from the strawberries of justice!) and watch the fireworks from a safe distance.

If it would please the court, I move that this case be dismissed for being generally not funny. Sure, Heidi's an asshat, but prosecuting and/or punishing asshats isn't what this honorable court is actually about. This court is about pointing and laughing at such individuals.

I second the motion, and suggest that the prosecturor be forced to read the archives of this court in their entirety.

Screw just this court. Make the prosecutor read the entire record of the United Fandoms of Wank.

But that's so much wank! Might the prosecutor die of wank OD, and wouldn't the courts be held responsible?

The prosecutor is then ordered to take a nap every forty wanks.

Your Honor, as cute as these kittens are, I must move that this evidence be stricken from the record on the grounds that it has not been presented in the form of evidence as specified under the Trebek Clause, and the kittens fined with daily hugsie-wugsies until they learn better.

The court sayeth that Heidi is an idiot and needs a PR manager. Either that or she really did know all along and if that's true then I'll resign my post at FA if she doesn't step down.

I bring no kittens. I have my own cat on my feet. She's more adorable than all your kittens put together.

If it may please the court, I move that all discussion of Heidi's behaviour during this wank be disregarded as I'm bored to tears of hearing about it. Also, I don't really care.

Instead, I move that we consider the more pressing matter of her excessively pink layout. Note the ugly contrast of pink and lilac and they way the links run over the box provided. In mitigation I will concede:

1. That it is a premade layout readily available on livejournal. I therefore cite livejournal as co-respondents.

2. That the defendent is known to view her journal with images turned off and may not be aware of the visual disturbance her own layout causes. However, ignorance of ugliness is no defence.

3. It does, at least, contain a kitten. I will, therefore, not be recommeding a custodial sentence.

Instead I move that Heidi be sentence to a week viewing the journal of ataniell93, with images loaded, and then be required to organise a charitable event to promote responsible use of the colour pink.

In support of my petition, I enter into evidence a picture of an adorable little bunny that was traumatised by overly pink layouts:

HOW CAN YOU LOOK AT HIS ADORABLE DISTRESSED LITTLE FACE AND NOT WEEP? WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE BUNNIES?

Anonymous in this case forgives, for anon does not think Heidi is completly to blame for her actions in the case of MSScribe. However she should still do 100 hours of eCommunity service and be made to wear one of those orange jump suit things.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Defense would like to submit that what the Accused's remarks about 'those times' referred to is the well-precedented fact that prolonged exposure to HP fandom drives even more reasonable personages insane. We submit to this effect the outcome of many previous F_Ws, including but not limited to The Fandom Vs JKR, The Snape/Harry Fans Vs Doctor Who, The Remus/Sirius Fans Vs The Remus/Tonks Fans, and The Harmonians Vs Everybody. Unwitting pawns and slaves Our tireless paralegals have prepared extensive briefs on this subject here.

As you may notice, your honors, the previous wanks almost all contain some form of romantic pairing endorsement, colloquially known as 'shipping'. We have several psychologist-prepared analyses on the effects of this fandom phenomenon, all of which strongly indicate the Accused was at an unusually vulnerable period in her life at this time. Further, a discussion with yet more psychologists has revealed the Accused is at a highly sensitive point in her recovery, and any forcing of an outright apology may have dire effects on her long-term well-being.

The Defense would also like to remind you that we are doing this pro-bono in order to assure the accused her full legal rights, and we would prefer if small angry kittens and box turtles were not flung at our heads.

In conclusion, Sirs and Madams, the Defense acknowledges that our client stands guilty as accused, but argues that she cannot be held accountable for this due to reason of temporary, fandom-induced insanity. We move that the court therefore adjourn and everybody go get donuts. Also, we would like to submit the following bunnies in a Barbie car.

Bunnies and donuts AND a Barbie car?

It's tempting, but if fandom-induced insanity is a defence, what's the point of the court, eh?

And that, your honor, is why we dug those pictures back up. (I'm very fond of that site, actually; it finally told me how to trance rabbits. Now that, y'know, I don't have one anymore.) The Defense also wishes to make sure you have seen this bunny, who can be taken as symbolic of the Accused in that he is blinded by his own ears.
