Weekly Check In
Hey, all! I'd like to start checking in weekly check-ins because I now have a very good reason to shed some weight: I got engaged last night! (I asked him, he said yes, and was completely surprised. There was giggling, and it wasn't all mine.) Date is set for May 5 2012, weight goal is set for 155 (30 lbs). I've been working out three times a week at the gym, plus taking long walks with the dog 2-3 times a week. I've been doing portion control and smart snaking (popcorn instead of potato chips; it kills me).

So, this week I'm adding in swimming at the gym. My joints have been taking a beating with the increased exercise (I'm a klutz, and have several previously injured joints to show for it), so hopefully the water will help take some weight off of them.

Congrats.

I visited a nutritionist, and we agreed on a goal of 180 lbs. (about 40 under my current weight), with the idea it would take the rest of of 2010 (and possibly a whole year) to get there.

I started keeping a food log and am trying to walk into work every day that it's not raining.

Thank you!I've got two years, so I'm trying to convince myself not to panic.

Swimming is good :) You might also want to add biking (either indoors or out) as that is also not weight-bearing (well, aside from your seat, ha).

Good luck and have a happy wedding!

Thank you! Have been biking for some time, but my particular knee foibles make it tricky. Not as tricky as running, but still necessitating too much tape to hold it in place.
