actress chosen for Cassandra Claire's movie
an actress was chosen to play the main character in Cassandra Claire's fanfic turned book turned movie

From article:

Big news for fans of “The Mortal Instruments” series, as fast-rising starlet Lilly Collins has been set to star in “City of Bones”, the film adaptation of the first novel (in a series of six) by Cassandra Clare, according to Deadline. Though Deadline doesn’t specify, Collins will presumably play the lead character, 15-year old Clary Fray, who discovers that she can see supernatural beings that no one else can and gets drawn into the world of the Shadowhunters, humans who hunt and kill demons. Of course, there is a boy for Clary to fall in love with, and his name is Jace Wayland, an arrogant Shadowhunter. With fan-favorite Collins set as Clary, the fans will now undoubtedly turn their attention to who will be their Jace.

No word yet on when director Scott Charles Stewart will start shooting. Collins is most known for her role in “The Blind Side” and recently completed work on “Abduction” and “Priest”.

UPDATE: Clare has now confirmed that Collins will indeed be portraying Clary Fray on her blog.

I find this equal parts stomach-churning and FASCINATING. THE INCEST FANFICTION ABOUT GINNY AND RON WEASELY WANTING TO GET IT ON IS NOW OFFICIALLY GOING TO BE ON THE BIG SCREEN IN FRONT OF EVERYONE BUT WITH (sort of) ORIGINAL NAMES AND A (sort of) ORIGINAL PLOT.

( *can't wait to download your movie :)* )

Oh shi- I just her books in the Book Fair of my country last month, translated into Spanish, and now there is going to be a movie? Fuck this, I'm going to listen to my boyfriend and write my own supernatural fantasy, and send it to English agents. Worse than Francisca Solar isn't going to be...
And to me, the actress looks like Lindsay Lohan with prettier hair. The one below is Ms Clare? Damn, too cute for being a wank magnet, the lady. *jumps to the selfinsert-pointing bandwagon*

Don't download it. Even if you don't mind piracy, studios still monitor the piracy numbers and use them to determine demand. It's not as valuable as actually paying to see it, but still.

That said, I'd like for Molly Quinn, AKA Alexis Castle, to get more roles. She's cute, she's a good actress, and she brings along the geek audience from a show whose title character bought along a geek audience from another show! It's win-win!

Please let this get worse reviews than TLA...

Though I did do a double-take at the actress's pic, as she looks a bit like Karen Gillan, who deserves better than to be in such a film.

...I seriously saw 'Clockwork Angel' and automatically translated it to 'clockwork orange' in my mind.

On a side note, I took a book out of the library called Unicorns vs Zombies, and CC had a story in it (which I skipped, naturally). And then I realized that the Team Zombie editor was the Countess Herself, Justine Something-or-other.

Now I understand why her comments bugged me.

So what would it take to make the world aware of her plagiarism? Emailing copies of her great fanfiction masterpieces along with comparisons from her published novels to magazine editors/publishers/the POTUS? I mean, I just can't believe that she's been able to get this far in her career and get away with plagiarism. :/

I like to think it's a matter of people just being unaware, not that people just don't care...
