MOAR KORRA
1. Republic City is now called "United Republic" and was founded by Aang and Zuko.

2. Scarf Bro and Earth Boi are brothers. Scarf Bro is Mako, named for the late, great Mako, and Earth Boi is Bolin. UPDATE: they seem to come from a mixed-culture family.

3. Mako is brooding, though not so much as Zuko; Bolin is younger and goofier.

4. Polar Bear Dog is named Naga, and is female.

5. Bolin has a fire ferret -- a red panda black footed ferret -- named Paboo.

6. Aang found a herd of sky bison after the war.

7. There is a new species of flying lemur.

8. Katara and Aang had three kids; Tenzin is the youngest.

9. Tenzin has a family -- a wife, Pemma, and three kids. All three kids are airbenders. (WHY IS THIS CALLED "THE LAST AIRBENDER", THEN!?)

10. In order of age, we have Jinora, a bookworm; Iki, a fast-talker; and Meelo, the youngest.

11. Anti-benders are known as the Equalists. Leader is possibly called Avon; source couldn't hear named Oman.

12. His henchmen are all chi blockers. They're also all masked.

13. Toph spread the metalbending discipline and founded metalbender cops, the SWAT team of United Republic. Her daughter is the chief of police. (No word on a father.)

14. "Korra" will introduce pro-bending -- teams of three benders, one of each discipline, against each other. I suspect the Korra's Krew participate in this.

15. Sifu Kisu is back for "Korra", as are the same classic bending styles. They're also bringing in mixed martial arts for pro bending.

16. For music, "What would it sound like in the 20s if the Chinese invented Jazz?" We will ignore all nitpickery about the origin of jazz, given that none of these influences exist in the AtLAverse.

17. THERE IS NO SET PREMIERE DATE AT THIS TIME.

18. There was a trailer; people are trying to upload it. I will add it to this post once it is up. TRAILER IS HERE

19. PICTURES FROM THE KORRA PANEL HERE

20. SCREENCAPS FROM THE TRAILER HERE

WATCH THIS POST, GAIZ, I'M UPDATING IT AS INFORMATION COMES IN.

The creators have said they're going for a 1920s Hong Kong feel.

And given that seventy years previous, in AtLA, they had zeppelins and tanks, having a car really isn't that much of a stretch, especially when you look at our own history. How long did it take us to go from the Wright Brothers to landing on the moon?

And that was without the ability to bend metal with your mind.

I could also see more Fire Nation tech built in to a multi-cultural city, as opposed to Omashu or Ba Sing Sei, which relied a lot on stoneworks because they had ample Eartbenders to both construct it and manipulate it. It would also avoid favoring one type of architecture.

Plus, if the city was a planned one built by Aang and Zuko*, it doesn't have the weight of history keeping a lot of old buildings in place. And, if motorized war vehicles are being turned into peacetime transport, there'd be more incentive to build roads wide enough for them, rather than streets meant for human/animal traffic.

* Possibly giving an indication where the funding/skilled labor was coming from, especially since I imagine a lot of skilled Earthbenders would be repairing Earth Kingdom cities. Having some on hand to set foundations and do stoneworks would speed up, as would having skilled metalworkers to try out new construction techniques, and would give the Fire Nation's war industries something to do with their time that didn't scare the neighbors.
