MOAR KORRA
1. Republic City is now called "United Republic" and was founded by Aang and Zuko.

2. Scarf Bro and Earth Boi are brothers. Scarf Bro is Mako, named for the late, great Mako, and Earth Boi is Bolin. UPDATE: they seem to come from a mixed-culture family.

3. Mako is brooding, though not so much as Zuko; Bolin is younger and goofier.

4. Polar Bear Dog is named Naga, and is female.

5. Bolin has a fire ferret -- a red panda black footed ferret -- named Paboo.

6. Aang found a herd of sky bison after the war.

7. There is a new species of flying lemur.

8. Katara and Aang had three kids; Tenzin is the youngest.

9. Tenzin has a family -- a wife, Pemma, and three kids. All three kids are airbenders. (WHY IS THIS CALLED "THE LAST AIRBENDER", THEN!?)

10. In order of age, we have Jinora, a bookworm; Iki, a fast-talker; and Meelo, the youngest.

11. Anti-benders are known as the Equalists. Leader is possibly called Avon; source couldn't hear named Oman.

12. His henchmen are all chi blockers. They're also all masked.

13. Toph spread the metalbending discipline and founded metalbender cops, the SWAT team of United Republic. Her daughter is the chief of police. (No word on a father.)

14. "Korra" will introduce pro-bending -- teams of three benders, one of each discipline, against each other. I suspect the Korra's Krew participate in this.

15. Sifu Kisu is back for "Korra", as are the same classic bending styles. They're also bringing in mixed martial arts for pro bending.

16. For music, "What would it sound like in the 20s if the Chinese invented Jazz?" We will ignore all nitpickery about the origin of jazz, given that none of these influences exist in the AtLAverse.

17. THERE IS NO SET PREMIERE DATE AT THIS TIME.

18. There was a trailer; people are trying to upload it. I will add it to this post once it is up. TRAILER IS HERE

19. PICTURES FROM THE KORRA PANEL HERE

20. SCREENCAPS FROM THE TRAILER HERE

WATCH THIS POST, GAIZ, I'M UPDATING IT AS INFORMATION COMES IN.

If there's a guy waterbender healer who has crush on Korra, he's getting my shipper's vote.

Me, I'm mostly a femslasher. I'm just hoping Korra and Toph's daughter aren't related. (Even though Sokka getting with Toph would have been awesome, I don't think it happened.)

I think the odds of Korra and ?Bei Fong? being related is very low.

Then again, so long as we are talking about shipping fictional characters, incest ships (het and slash) don't bother me.

I'm not sure why I was thinking Korra was related to Katara anyway, when she's Aang's incarnation, not his descendent. Been a confusing day, or something.

Anyway, I'm not much for nuclear family incest ships personally but once you're getting into second cousins and stuff like that I don't care a whit. For all I know the canon world doesn't either.

Given the decimation of the Southern Water Tribe by the time of the original series, the resulting reduced gene pool, and the Water Tribe's concern with family connections--you'll recall one of the Swampbenders speculating as to whether Sokka and Katara might be their distant cousins*--it would be difficult for Korra not to be related to Katara in some fairly recent degree.

(Note also that the majority of Earth cultures don't share most Americans' aversion to sexual relations between cousins.)

*According to Word of God, there was a diaspora: a faction who rebelled against the Orthodox Water Tribe's strict gender roles emigrated to the South Pole to establish themselves as the Reform Water Tribe; it's conceivable that, along the way, some of them decided to settle in the tropics, eventually diverging into the Sephardic Water Tribe.

I'm just going to sit here and pretend that's exactly what I was thinking. *nods sagely*

I never got that either, even though I'm American, but ever since someone from England tried to chew me out on fanficrants I've kept my mouth shut about it most of the time.

*hearts this so much*
