	I really ought to be working on a fic for an exchange which I just recently realized is due a lot sooner than I was misremembering it as being. I learned today that I passed my MA degree. I only found that out by coincidence (logging into the grade registration system for something else) because my supervisor apparently doesn't think it's important to tell me about stuff like this. And this is the culmination of 1.5 years of him not giving two shits about me or my progress - I got next to no feedback during the writing process.

The grade is, accordingly, absolutely horrendous.

(and that's the tl;dr edition)

I should be celebrating or w/e, but I just feel like getting smashed beyond repair.

I nominate: In Justice (Kyle MacLachlan & Jason O'Mara) 3 lbs (Stanley Tucci & Mark Feuerstein) Justice (Victor Garber) They were all excellent in their different ways and would have been far more worth watching than some of the shows that were picked up instead. Apparently a friend of mine went to see X-Men: First Class and some girls behind her & her sister were going, "Kiss!" at some Magneto/Xavier scenes.

Which is like, hey, I ship it, too (who doesn't?) but ...you can't keep that chatter to your own table at a coffee shop AFTER the film? Or whisper it so others in theater can't hear it?

Or am I just a particularly particular viewer who likes a mostly quiet theater and then if I want the squee, I'll go read livejournal (assuming it's up!) or whatever.

I feel badly for Livejournal at this point. What can they do to prevent this from happening every time a dissident farts in Russia? I'm sure folks will start howling that LJ should throw the dissidents under the bus so that fandom can get back to its ~~porn~~ freedom of expression, but not only would it be the height of hypocrisy and assholery to do so, it would let the hackers know that LJ can be coerced and intimidated by these tactics.

I'd rather they weathered the attack in the name of free expression, and never mind the whining from fandom, but eventually, these attacks are going to affect them financially. So, what can they do to minimize the damage to themselves while protecting the rights of the targeted bloggers?

Which books/comics/videogames do you think would make a good TV show, be it live action, anime or western animation?

My votes would be for:

Girl Genius - Any medium, but preferably anime. Seriously, how cool would that shit be?

The Elder Scrolls (specifically the Dark Brotherhood from Oblivion) - Whatever the medium, it should be done like a reality show, complete with diary room confessions.

Ace Attorney - Anime or live action.

Jig the Goblin series - Actually, I'd bet that either Ghibli or the A:tLA guys could do a great job with this one.

The Mediator series - I think this would look great in live-action.

Runaways - Western animation.

The World Ends With You - It'd pretty much have to be anime or Japanese live-action.
