Pinkie Pie wants everyone to be her friend. When she encounters the one person in all of Ponyville who does not (a cranky donkey who just moved there), she basically stalks him, calls public attention to his flaws (literally yelling "HEY, THIS DONKEY IS BALD! HE NEEDS A WIG!"), invades his privacy, destroys his most valued possession (albeit accidentally, but she's never really made to understand how truly horrible she's being), and drives him half-mad with her constant wheedling and presence.

In the end, she finds the one way to make him her friend, implying that everyone can be made to be your friend if you just keep trying. Like a couple of other eps this season, the message is more than a little fucked up and consequences don't happen as they should.
