A moment from Comic-Con
Early Sunday, Misha Collins goes for his morning run outside Hall H, where the Supernatural panel will be held for 2012 Comic Con San Diego. Fans are queuing up by the hundreds. Some of them huddle in blankets against the chilly morning, some powwow on the pavement playing Pokemon. A cosplayer of Finn from Adventure Time blends in with nerds hefting backpacks and wearing knit hats pulled over ears. Other morning joggers take the same route, weaving amongst convention goers, and Misha is invisible in the crowd as he runs around, Peaches or whatever pounding in his earphones.

He catches sight of three female fans dressed as his character Castiel, in trenchcoats, wielding angel swords and journals of lore, and thinks, I'm totally going to tweet this one. He stops a few feet from them, carefully angling his back toward them, and holds up his iPhone.

The cosplayers had just posed for this picture and are still talking. The girl on the left has just explained that she has come all the way from Singapore and she's considering skipping the Supernatural panel so she could get in line for the signing; she really wants to meet Misha Collins. One of them spots Misha and whispers, "Guys, that's Misha Collins." He snaps the photo just as they turn around ("Oh my god!"). He swiveles, grins at them, and runs off.

The fans instinctively give chase, screaming in excitement ("OH MY GOD!"), trenchcoats and dark wings flapping in the breeze as they rushed past a Comic Con goer with a video camera who has accidentally captured the moment. The videographer lets almost a minute pass before he remarks on what just happened. "My girlfriend Kim is gonna go crazy as soon as she finds out and sees that I have recorded Castiel on video jogging." He says he will tape her reaction as he picks her out of the crowd. He tells her "Castiel just came by running right here and I have it on video!" A nervous giggle slips past her lips, and she replies "Na-ah! Let me see! Let me see!"

So Comic-Con sure looked fun this year.
