11:42AM - Dilbert Feed
This just cracked me up. I'm not seeing any wanky flaming or anything, just the uber geeky humor that used to run rampant on the List of the Day pages at the Dilbert website. *sighs*
In todays comic, Asok claims to be a graduate of I.I.T. Most of the discussion revolves around whether that's the Indian-American-Indian or Indian-like-in-India Institute of Technology. The following conversation insues:
pendragon1074: early native americans were only called indians because when they discovered america they thought they has sailed around the world and had landed in India. It has nothing to do with PC, it has everything to do with over 200 years of calling someone something they are not.
rpgod2: The name stuck -- and making everyone change what they call them is trying to be PC.
ottomaton: If you've been calling somebody something they are not for 200 years, they're not not that thing anymore.
rudezombie: Well the land that the Indians occupied wasn't called America until our white asses settled here.. So we steal their land, name it America.. and then slap the native people with the name we gave their land.
That doesn't sound too PC to me.
*Snerk!*
