i thought i'd drop a challenge here that a friend of mine over on lj proposed, because it looks like it would be fun to do. and i reckon people should do it, since i'm feeling quite fandom-retarded at the moment:

Your challenge: Choose your fandom and your characters/'ship, and place them in Tortuga as represented in Pirates of the Carribean. I'm well aware that there is an actual Isle of Tortuga, but for the purposes of this challenge, drop your fandom smack-bang in the middle of Captain Jack Sparrow's Tortuga. Post your challenge response wherever you wish and comment in this post with the link. Tell your mates, spread the word and above all, have fun.
I asked if this meant your fandom as it is (ie: whatever timeline is represented canonically), or if your fandom was set in the 1700s in Tortuga, or if it was either and the answer was "However you want to make it work is up to you".
