Didn't want to put this in metaquotes, since it wasn't from any Journalfen account, but my LJ. But I figured at least some people would find it amusing. Will move this if asked.

*eerie fog settles over the battlefield* We see Corporals Fandom_Wank, Fanthropology, and Metafandom in their foxhole.

[Fandom_Wank] Seen this before. It's always quiet. Then . . . boom. You're knee deep in wank praying it ends.
[Fanthropology] I've never seen you pray it ends.
[Fandom_Wank] . . . that was a metaphor.
[Fanthropology] You rarely use metaphors in my experience. But if you're starting, it could represent a sociological shift.
[Fandom_Wank] The hell? And . . . hey, what are you doing?
[Metafandom] Writing this down.
[Fanthropology] . . . here it comes. It's midnight! Prepare for a secondary cultural shift!
[Fandom_Wank] POTTER IN THE HOLE! HIT THE DECK!
