3:47AM - "I dreamt of sex and the ability to punctuate properly."

Everyone's favorite Mistress of Spasms has put up the first chapter for her next Faerie book--you know the one. Me, I actually enjoy the series in that guilty-pleasure kind of way, possibly because it's an excellent read for those occasions when your brain is so fried that even the game show network seems sort of challenging.

Well, I had enjoyed it. It's a bit hard to be optimistic about something that opens with this:

"I dreamt of warm flesh and cookies. The sex I understood, but the cookies….- Why cookies? Why not cake, or meat? But that's what my subconscious chose as I dreamt. We were eating in the tiny kitchen of my Los Angeles apartment-an apartment I didn't live in anymore, outside of dreams. The we were me, Princess Meredith - the only faerie royal ever born on American soil -and my royal guards, over a dozen of them."
Mostly I'm impressed by the fact that if all of her roughs look like this, I may owe her editors an apology. Getting them up to even the level of error-ridden prose they publish with would be a major accomplishment.

9:41AM - Retcon recs?

Are there any good articles out there about retroactive continuity? Not so much regarding the history of it (though that would be helpful too), but more in discussing the concept itself and how it is used by the Powers That Be-- more opinionated stuff, in other words.
