7:38AM - Seattle politics
This brought to you by a friend at LJ, who doesn't need the publicity as she has done nothing wrong. But the story deserves much wider promotion.
The 43rd district in Seattle is solidly Democratic (and also kinda gay) so that the GOP usually doesn't run a "real" candidate, because it's a waste of time. I could run as an unknown Democrat in this district against John McCain, and I would probably win. So the "real" election for this district is the Democratic primary, because whoever wins that wins the seat.
So now that we have our Democratic Candidate (and eventual winner), people are finally looking at the Republican candidate. Who is a college student. With a Facebook page. And you just know where this is going.
