2:33PM - Overdose of Potter?

Okay, maybe its just my weird imagination, but does anyone else think that Two and Jamie look like Harry and Ron in this icon? I think its the hair and lighting.

4:33PM - Web Coding Question

Y'all have loads of knowledge, so I'm hoping that at least one of you can help me out here. Plus, I didn't know where else to ask.

I'm wanting to build a webpage to catalogue parts of a collection. Specifically, for now: shoes. But I want to be able to offer different viewing options such as sorting by color, style, name, etc. Is there a way to do this that won't make me have to build five different pages, where each one has a hand-made list?

Typical entries would be something like this:

Red Boots
Color: Red; Style: Boot; Character: Kirsten; Section: Historical; Status: Current; Price: $8; Available: Individually

Denim Slides with Flower Design
Color: Denim/multi; Style: Sandal; Character: JLY; Section: JLY; Status: Retired; Price: ---; Available: Coconut's Best Friend Outfit

Kit's White Sandals
Color: Off-White; Style: Sandal; Character: Kit; Section: Historical; Status: Current; Price: $8; Available: Replacemnt part / Kit Doll

I would want to be able to sort by each item, plus the name, and also specify exclusions or inclusions. For example, to only search by "current" items rather than retired, or only those that are available for individual purchase or as replacement parts, or only those that are $8 rather than $10...

Now, I know that sites like Amazon.com and eBay allow you to specify some specifics in your searches (arrange by date listed, name, price, and so on), but I haven't the foggiest whether they have the inclusion/exclusion features, and I don't know what type of code they use.

The site is aimed at collectors who are looking for a particular type of shoe, who are trying to figure out what a certain type of shoe is, what outfit or collection it belongs to, or for those who simply like to see lots and lots of lists of collected items.

So. Anyone know what I need to use to make this database? As there are about 100 pairs of shoes, I'm not looking forward to making an individual page for each search option, but I want it to be extremely user friendly (a lot of the collectors are almost computer illiterate, sadly, but they'd be the ones using it most, I suspect). I shouldn't have a problem getting everything coded up once I find out what I need to use, but I'm unfamiliar with the web codes out there, other than CSS and HTML. I am familiar with C++ and VisualBasic and I've got an idea of how I'd do this with those programs, but like I said, I don't know what the modern stuff can do. (I learned C++ and VB in high school, back when I thought getting a CompSci prog degree would be fun. HA HA HA. I'm such an art student, it's sad.)

Thanks to anyone that can provide assistance!

5:22PM - Google-bombing?

Apparently Google-bombing is a political tool. What's next, political ad-ware?

7:03PM - Dear Santa,

Can I have this for Christmas?

Current mood: Interested

7:38PM - Trixie Belden femslash?

My spouse has a student who's looking for Trixie Belden femslash. Anyone know where some could be found?

I've tried ff.net and adultff.net, Google, the Rareslash ml and LJ.

Closest I've come so far is a a couple parts of a story on RareSlash and the revelation that there's not much slash in Trixie Belden fandom as a whole on LJ.

So yes, any help would be very much appreciated. :D

7:54PM

Peter Jackson rehired to direct The Hobbit.
Just wanted to share after seeing this post last week. Yayness.
