9:17AM - Mod announcement

Short Version: NO SPOILERS.

Longer Version: We like fandom_lounge to be a friendly, laid-back sort of community. Posting spoilers, even as speculation or jest, to what may well be the most anticipated release since...erm, the last one (I'm talking about Harry Potter, just to be crystal clear, here) serves to make fandom_lounge not a friendly, laid-back sort of community. So don't do it. Violators will earn themselves a temp ban until after the release. We'll be riding much closer herd on the community until the 21st. Our apologies for the one that slipped through over the weekend.

We didn't think we'd need to institute a "don't be a jerk" rule, but griefing ain't just for MMORPG's, it seems. Use good judgement on spoiling things that have been released (the statute of limitations on Lord of the Rings has expired, for instance), and do not spoil things that haven't. Don't make it so we can't have nice things, please.

The BBC is asking people to submit a summarization of the 6 Harry Potter books in 100 words or less here. They'll select the top 5 "most impressive and inventive entries" and post them on their website. They've listed a few entries so far. My favorite one gives the description as "Teenage angst with magic". I think that can be used to describe a lot of books actually.

'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe is happy to have sex with girls who are only interested in him because of his fame.

The 17-year-old actor insists he is too young to settle down and is keen to take advantage of any groupies he has.

He said: "Girls who want to go out with me just because I'm famous has never been a problem. I'm 17. I don't care.

"Obviously, if I wanted a deep and meaningful relationship then I wouldn't want to be going out with somebody who is only with me because I'm an actor, but if you don't a relationship like that then it's fine."

However, Daniel is adamant he wouldn't stay with a girl who called him Harry during sex.

He said: "People do call me Harry. I once had a friend call me it by accident. If there's another person in the room called Harry and somebody shouts their name I do respond slightly, which is embarrassing.

"But no one has ever said it in the throws of passion. That would be the end of that session. Go now!"

Daniel reprises his role as the boy wizard for the fifth time in new movie 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'.

Put me on a plane to England folks, I'm going home!
