Ok, it isn't about fandom, per se, but it is about wank, so I figure this can go here. (Mods? Y/N?)

8:23AM - patronuses and animagi: a link?
My roommates and I were discussing a possible Harry Potter theory concerning patronuses and animagi. It rests on the theory that people cannot choose their animagus form. If that's false, the disregard all this, heh.
Considering that one can neither choose their animagus nor their patronis, and that their shapes are dependent on their nature, would one's animagus form be the same as their patronus?
The only case which supports this theory is ( DH SPOILER ) Obviously to solidify this theory we'd need more than just one example.
So far I've found a list of known animagi but no compiled list of patronuses. Theory aside, it'd be nice to have a link.
Therefore, I am wondering: are there any other instances where a character's animagus form matches their patronus? What do y'all think of this crackpot theory?

JKR is doing the Harry Potter Encyclopedia.
“J.K. Rowling told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira she will most likely publish a Potter encyclopedia, promising many more details about her beloved characters and the fate of the wizarding world beyond the few clues provided in the seventh book’s epilogue.
While Rowling hasn’t officially started writing the encyclopedia, although she’s got plenty of material from the stories left on the cutting room floor over the past 17 years.
“I’ve said before that Dean Thomas had a much more interesting history than ever appeared in the books for me, and you just see glimpses of it,” Rowling said. “But to write it really would take us into prequel territory. And that does take us into Star Wars territory. And that’s not really a place I’m planning to go.
“So there’s always been bits that I knew about characters that didn’t make final cuts because they weren’t that relevant.” ...
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on Rowling’s next Potter work.
“I’m not going to (write the encyclopedia) tomorrow because I’d really like a break,” Rowling said. “So you may be waiting.”

Is LJ down? ARGH. I need to check my FL urgently to procrastinate before I go to bed, and it won't let me! And status.livejournal.org isn't working either!
EDIT: Per status.livejournal.org, which FINALLY works: LiveJournal is down. There has been a power outage at our data center. We are working as quickly as possible to restore service.

Also, anyone know what happened to fanfix.com? Back when I was a wee one in my first fandoms, I read an X-Files/SW crossover fic that I absolutely adored, and I saw the X-Files today, and OMG! The love resurged, and I wanted to read it again. The X-Files/SW crossover fic was Scully/Luke, and the first part dragged Scully and Mulder into the Millennium Falcon, and then in the second part they came to Earth, and Luke and Scully had crabs (the edible kind) in Maryland. And then there was tragic Jedi mindwiping. Just in case, you know, it's elsewhere...I wanted to read it again to see if it was still good. EDIT AGAIN even though I should be in bed:
