2:47AM - AFF.net rises above... something
Does anyone have any info on the current AFF.net drama? Earlier tonight, angry posts were made on the front page (for which I have no caps, woe) in which a number of admins declared they were leaving because of Jaxxy, who apparently stole money from the site, is taking control of it back, and may or may not be responsible for the end of mankind as we know it. There was a threat to create www.adultfanfictionnet.net, or something similar, either as a bitch site or as a... I wasn't quite clear on that part.

Hello everyone! Glad to be back after a long, tedious, and unavoidable hiatus. I hope I find you as well as I am doing.
No news is good news, but lo! here's some for you to read. I'm sure you will appreciate me being plain -- so here I go.
As some of you may have noticed, four of our Chief Moderators have retired. I was erroneously believed to have stolen funds from AdultFanFiction.net, and this conclusion, in addition to my hiatus, displeased them greatly. I cannot blame them for their confusion, as several several wires were crossed -- but the fact that, as a reaction, this very site was illegally seized (the Nexcess account was hijacked, in fact), without discussion of the situation with even one of the other Moderators or Owner, is something I may have had to place blame for, had they chosen to stay. Mind you, I name no names as to whom in specific committed this crime.
Nonetheless, there is no need to worry for the site's stability, as I have finally secured both our Nexcess account and the domain name (which there was also quite the race to acquire).
You will be seeing some angry posts and claims from perhaps many people in the near future -- even rumors that AdultFanFiction.net is moving or being mass-abandoned by Members! I know this because a few attacks have already been deleted from this very site (even the News Post area, here).
Rest assured that I and your remaining faithful Staff am going to do everything to ensure the site's health that we always have. Please do not let the current rash of mayhem ruin your visits to AdultFanFiction.net, or fear for its future. After all, we've re-secured all this for the (presently) 64,528 Authors and Members of this site -- not ourselves. As ugly as this job is on this day, I personally cannot let the softness of my heart subject AdultFanFiction.net's members to potentially illegal actions by its Staff.
And so, I accept the ladies' resignation -- unhappily -- but know that it is right.
Do take heart, also, that even though our Yahoo Groups have been destroyed by the angrier ex-Staff members out there, that plans are in the works to get us all back in happy communication. We do, after all, have the convenience of owning our own Forum -- you are as welcome to it as always -- link's above, so join up!
I thank you for your patience, and your advance knowledge that there are fewer Staff than usual, and as many Members as there ever were to address your concerns.
We'll rise above -- we always do, Members and Staff, together.

All the links to the Yahoo groups are indeed gone. Also someone's been mucking around with the servers, because some of the section links are dead. There is melodrama afoot on the internet about this, I'm sure, but my brain, it does not function well at this hour. Anyone got anything? I'd put this in clairvoyant, but I don't have any actual links to wankage.
8:15PM - One...no wait...TWO things..
Okay, first, here I am, I set up a group, and I forget to pimp it! Well...that, and I haven't really had much time to do so.
Anyway, not sure how many Trekkies are on JF, though I've run across a few. But the only Trek related group here is completely dead from what I can tell. Second....I'm seriously considering going to MediaWest 2008. I've never been, and I'm really curious about it. What's it like? Granted, I'll most likely be going by myself, and I won't know anyone...but I hope that isn't a problem. I'm an artist, I dabble in fic here and there, and I'm the sociable sort. :) I'm pretty attached to Data as far as the whole fandom phenomenon goes, but I was told that Trek fans are rare over there, let alone other Data fans. But that's okay. I keep an open mind, and there's other stuff I like too. Anyway, thoughts? Is there anything I need to know?
