10:33PM - A little help for a Yank?

I'm in search of the name of mystery series that I saw at Best Buy today on DVD and wanted to look up some more about online. Of course I have forgotten the name of the show now that I'm in front of my computer. Searching the BBC's website and Wikipedia has yielded nothing so I'm hopeful that maybe someone here might be able to help me.

The show was produced by the BBC. It is the story of a cop in a small town who solves mysteries with the help of his side-kick, a West Highland Terrier. Any help in re-discovering the name of the series would be much appreciated.
