2:45PM - Sailor Moon fandom
... So where's the good Sailor Moon fandom? I'm trying to avoid two poles: "Batshit-insane-Usagi-Kou" and "Full-of-semi-literate-people". The Pit, though not bad for some fandoms, isn't looking too promising for this fandom.
I'm particularly interested in good Haruka/Michiru fanworks (and trawling through DeviantArt is turning up some gems on that front, I must admit). Anyone got any recs, links to archives, a recommendation for an LJ community... anything?
Ta muchly!
3:46PM - Between-semester reading recommendations?
My mom gave me her old Kindle after she bought herself a new one, and now I'm trying to find books for it. A lot of what I have on my to-read list isn't available on the Kindle (275,000 books isn't that much--they don't even have The Last Unicorn), so I'm turning to you guys.
I'm looking for science fiction and fantasy, although if you've read something else lately that you thought was amazing, I'm open to that too. Historical fiction is also welcome, especially if it's non-European.
Things that I've tried:
The Dresden Files (am working through the first book now, hoping the "old fashioned valuez" are toned down in the future)
Diane Duane (in the queue)
Dianna Wynne Jones (limited Kindle availability)
Naomi Novik (last Temeraire novel in the queue :D)
I'm gravitating towards easy-to-read, because my brain is FRIED, but I'm not set on it. And what makes a book easy to read is horribly personal anyway. If it seems too complicated for me right now, I'll save the suggestion for later.
So, any suggestions?
