There's now a Desperate Housewives wank community on LJ. Wow... I had no idea there was much wank in that fandom besides the occasional minor flare-up about the quality of season 2 or lack thereof. Then again, I don't enter into the 'shipping realms, even if there may be Andrew/Justin porn, because I've heard the Bree/Lynette 'shippers can be frightening.

When the mod, roaming_tigress, announces the creation of this community, people are confused about what wank means. no offense, but that sounds like a DH community to masturbate to., quoth not_kosher.

I love that the second post in the community is a teenybopperish intro. In pink font. Heh.

As for DH wank, I vaguely recall some between that fandom and the Grey's Anatomy fandom, mostly because GA has become ABC's darling this year and started doing better in the ratings than DH a few months ago. It's stupid, because they're both on the same network and in different timeslots, yet fans of each think there's this big rivalry.

And they're right after each other, which (one would assume) means they appeal to the same demographic. So yeah, WTF?

I was about to say it was probably a pisstake, but I looked at the poster's journal and she really does write that way. In bright neon colors, no less.

Actually, to be quite honest I'm annoyed by the fact that they can give GA new episodes week after week, but they always pre-empt DH for other stuff instead of at least showing reruns. But, yeah, there's not really a big "rivalry" between the two shows- it'd be different if it was two shows at the same time on different networks competing, but it's not. No episode of DH won't ruin my life. :D That's what the season 1 DVDs are for.

Me too, especially since I've missed a few eps here and there.

That's me as well. I only just got into DH a couple of months ago. My roommate convinced me to watch the pilot, and I was hooked. I worked my way through season 1, but missed about the first 8 or 9 episodes of season 2 because I wanted to finish season 1 before diving in. I haven't missed a new one since, but I'd really like to see the ones I did miss and not have to wait 'til they come out on DVD, which won't be 'til October of this year according to Amazon.

I love DH so much. It's so over the top.

Oh yes. So over the top, but there's loads of intense and emotional moments, too. And I can't stop watching because I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AUUUUUGH. I love Mary Alice's commentary the best, her opening and closing monologues just keep getting better and better.

I love Felicity Huffman. She's such a MILF talented and hilarious actress.

Totally a MILF talented actress. I've been dying to see her in Transamerica, but it didn't play anywhere near here. Oh well; that's why we have DVDs. :D

I can't speak for why ABC doesn't show the DH repeats but the reason there have been so many new GA episodes is because there were 4 episodes held over from the first season, plus the usual 22 episode order this season. 26 episodes means a lot fewer repeats.

I wonder how long it'll take before it's suspended.

It doesn't have many members yet, so it may be a while. It'll get TOSed as soon as someone from a big board/comm gets sporked, probably.

The phanwank comm for The Phantom Of The Opera hasn't been suspended yet and I've been a member for a while. Great place to be amused if you have /any/ interest in Phantom at all - speaking as a movie fan, some of the funniest posts are about sporking the movie :-D
