As I was at Fry's Electronics getting more memory for my MacBook, I saw a copy of Ann Cunter's latest book. This got me to thinking, and I came to the conclusion that Ann Cunter is simply another of Ms. Scribe's sockpuppets.

Ann Coulter is MsScribe, which means MsScribe is a man.

I think.

Well, Ann Coulter does have a nice Adam's Apple . . .

I'm surprised that Fry's had her book in the first place. I know that they sell a lot of stuff that seems unusual for Nerdvana an electronics store, but political commentary seems rather off the beaten path for them.

Hey, you didn't happen to see if they had Volume 1 of Full Metal Panic? Fumofuu while you were there, did you?

I'm in Texas. That should explain most of it.

No, I didn't go digging in the anime section. I pretty much stuck to the computer stuff, as that's what my mission was.

Speaking as a Houstonian, yes, yes it does. I (and I'm guessing most other people as well) generally don't go to electronics stores when I'm looking for a book, though. If they had a bigger selection, I might, since I can walk to Fry's, but Borders is just a tad too far to do the same. *Is hoarding her gas*

To be completely fair, they're more likely to have the book on [insert bizarre Unix-like topic here] than the local Borders or Barnes and Snowballs. Otherwise, if I were looking for a reference on, say, the occult (I do quite a bit of work there, too), I'd head for a normal bookstore.

Wow. A Fry's within walking distance of somewhere people live in Houston. You're obviously not talking about the same store I am. Of course, walking outside in Houston is just begging to die from heat stroke (yet, during the school year, I do it all the time).

Very true.

I live close to the one on the southwest side. My brothers and I actually got stopped for truancy walking home from it the day of its grand opening. Which one are you thinking of?

As to the heat, I think you build up a resistance to it over time. (Especially when the A/C doesn't get turned on till July. *crosses fingers that it will get turned on this week*)

Okay, maybe we are talking about the same Fry's. Wow. Caught for truancy to go to geek heaven--and living within walking distance! DUDE! Though, yeah, the nearest Borders to that general area is a bit too far to walk.

Well, you build up a resistance to the heat, yes. But it's not the heat that gets you. It's the humidity. And I doubt you'll need it this week, as the forecast calls for mostly rain and temps that don't break 90, or so my MacBook tells me.

Actually, the sad thing about it was that we weren't even truant, since I was 18 and my brothers were a) homeschooled and b) with me, and thus exempt.

As to the forecast: Huzzah!

Hey, you mind if I friend you over on LJ?

Figures. HPD is, as always, clueless.

Well, other than the rain tomorrow, it does sound nice for July.

Sure, go right ahead. I'm photosinensis over there.

I'm mostly PO'ed that Frye's no longer sells action figures. They used to have great post-Christmas clearance prices (I got my Barbie-size Ivanova there for $6).
