My reaction was sheer delight, for some reason. Maybe because movies so rarely actually put characters in jeopardy (trying to be vague here). I just sat there going, "The third movie is going to be totally awesome trying to sort this out."

I thought the third movie was going to be a prequel to the first movie. That's what I inferred from imdb about a year ago, at least. I was so excited about Will's dad.

I actually started to stomp my feet and yell at the movie screen for ending the way it did. I'm apparently a fun date. I didn't even *like* the first movie!

oooh where can I read spoilers? I won't be getting to see the movie for a couple of weeks yet (work schedule is pretty hectic) and I got totally spoiler-d with the first PotC so knowning what happens in the story doesn't bother me one bit.

I'm sort of wondering why people are lamenting the loss of Gay Jack sparrow. He didn't seem gay at all in the first movie. A swishy wrist isn't enough, IMO. (I don't say this as someone who wants to protect the sacred het of Jack Sparrow. Really!)

Is it bad that my friends and I both cheered for Jack Dav before they even showed his face? Luckily the theater we were in was a loudish heckling one and did not mind the cries of "JACK MOTHERFUCKING DAVENPORT!"

I always thought he was kind of gay. Then I read something where Johnny Depp said he'd read Sodomy and the Pirate Tradition to prep for the role, and that he thought of Jack as bi. Works for me!
