Howdy peeps. I have no idea how off-topic or not allowed this is, so wotevs.

I'm trying to see if there's any HP fans who'd want to come to a HP fandom convention/conference/piss-up next year in Sydney, Australia - hopefully around the time of the OotP movie premiere. There'd be drinking, academic papers, fan fic readings, drinking, the Msscribe Sockpuppet Theatre Show (with real socks), going to either the premiere or an early screening and RL fandom wanking loving wanking.

At this stage nothing is really concrete, and we don't exactly have the organisationally elite skillz that kill that Heidi and Msscribe had in con planning, but Aussie fans and wankas alike have missed out on the chance for Cassie to get free entrance to something in our own damn country* all the fun of Pottercons, and that simply cannot be.

If you'd be interested in coming, we're trying to gauge numbers here at this post in my LJ. If you're from Australia, or NZ, or anywhere overseas and are willing to shill out, we'll be trying to keep costs down by having the event in a not-exey location.
