Yes, it is perfectly reasonable that Kirk had the know-how to make the gunpowder and put together the bazooka to defeat the Gorn. That's why he's the goddamn Captain.

I had to watch that episode in middle school science class. I have no idea what I was supposed to learn, but that was the teacher who gave me extra credit for knowing that Kirk's middle name was "Tiberius". Maybe he was hungover?

Mmm. I had him seventh hour, maybe he stepped out to have a beer with lunch...I know if I taught at my middle school, I would want to be drunk all the time.

I was going to ask if we had the same teacher, but he made us watch the one with the bloodsucking cloud...

(It would be a hell of a coincidence if we did. Did you go to school in Washington County, Minnesota?)

I got to watch the one with Gladiators in for Latin class. Not as cool as watching Jim Henson's Storyteller in class, though.

Man, I had the best Latin teacher.

I think my favorite was the Apollo one. That guy used to be on a soap opera my mother watched in the '70s and '80s.

So I'm in the middle of figuring out what posters to put on my classroom wall, when I realize that Photo Paper + Kirk is awesome poster = perfect for the wall behind my desk. Yes. And the Love Mankind logic poster goes behind the student desks.
