Anita Blake: The Graphic Novel
...apparently I've been living under a rock, or something; I only just discovered that apparently there's an Anita Blake graphic novel in the works.

Bzuh?

For your amusement, here's the Amazon.com link.

Here's a forum discussion on the subject.

And here's an interview with LKH.

(FWIW, am not a fan of LKH; have never read her books, although that hasn't stopped me from enjoying -- if that's the word -- the related wank and the excerpts of truly execrable prose I've seen. This came to my attention when I saw the promo cards for it at the local comics shop today, and I felt the need to share.)

Hailed by critics as “An R-Rated Buffy” and “Monstrously Entertaining,” the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels have developed an ever-expanding fanbase as each novel outsells the last.

...I have no words. Except maybe NO WAY IN HELL the Anita Blake books are R-rated. NC-17, yes. R, no. Which also explains the popularity.

The first...7 or so? are R-rated and not NC-17. Then they turned into a bad pornfest.

I think this was mentioned on one of the communties before, not sure if it was fandom_lounge or one of the wank communities. There was a lot of discussion on how the hell they were going to manage adapting the later books because they're pretty much all pr0n.

It's spreading!!!!!

Someone needs to put a stop to this. To Laurell K. Hamilton, I tell her to cease and desist and look at my icon (taken from lurker32-- thanks!).

No, no, she needs to shut the fuck up and stop writing porn.

I wouldn't mind it so much if it was at least good porn.

Hm. At the end of the interview it says they've only contracted for the first three. I bet if it sells they'll do the rest, though.

I don't think I want to get this for our library. We're not getting "Lost Girls" either.
