London Bridge is Falling Down, and what did they ever do about it?
In honor of it being voting day in the US, some election parody that everyone can enjoy from the fine folks at NPR.

Humpty Dumpty: Soft on Wall Sitting.

And the candy won't hurt their teeth, because Prop. 111 will fund the development of a high-tech polymer that protects kids' teeth from decay. The polymer also makes kids 200 percent smarter and wealthier, and it makes them hate illegal drugs. And Prop. 111 does all this without raising taxes, by floating a series of magic astrological wizard bonds that incur zero debt while generating billions of dollars in revenue. If you believe in unicorns, vote yes on Prop. 111.

I heard the nursery rhymes on NPR while I was at work yesterday and I about died laughing. Hilarious.

Prop. 111 was crafted in a cave full of vampire bats by demons with wings of fire. It hates you. If you are a human being, vote NO on 111.

Sounds like the marriage ban they're trying to pass in my state.

You're a Tennessean?

Wisconsinite. At the risk of sounding like the partisan I so totally am, our marriage ban amendment was drafted by unpleasant people who clearly hate freedom, puppies, rainbows, and domestic restraining orders for non-married couples.

I would think that would be true of all such amendments.

... and domestic restraining orders for non-married couples.

Wait, getting a restraining order depends on things other than how dangerous the restrained person is?

It's easier to get a strong restraining order if you are, for example, divorced. This right has been accorded unmarried people with dangerous exes in many areas, but it falls under the umbrella of "rights similar to married rights", so an amendment like Wisconsin's would put this up for debate. I think it was Ohio where this was brought to the courts and the judge said the amendment made it impossible to accord an unmarried ex-girlfriend that kind of right, but I'm not sure.

It is fucking MESSED UP, regardless.

Jeez, it's not just unfair along the married/unmarried divide, but what if it's some crazy stalker you've never had anything to do with? "I'm sorry, sir/m'am. Perhaps you should marry your stalker, then it'll be easier to get a restraining order."

Yes, it was indeed Ohio. At least one serious battery case may be thrown out solely due to their homophobia amendment.

My state passed one too (Virginia). I can't fucking wait to move.
