A snarky poem for me? Awww.
Wow, okay. So, I made a post in my JF waaaay back in the day when *dundundun* some wank regarding Cassie Claire was splooging through the air.
Today, however, I check my mail and find this latest comment: A snarky little poem! I thought it was rather cute, but omgalittlebitlate, so, perlulinda's suggestion, I thought I'd share here.
CC crushes fan like bug. News at eleven...
Claire-ity
Now listen well, ye fangirls
Listen well to what I say,
The fanfic world’s a petty place
And you must mind your way,
I’ll tell you now a story
Of a fangirl, if ye care.
She loved the Secret Dairies
And fangirl’d Cassie Claire
Alas, then Cassie posted
That she write diaries no more.
The fans they wailed and cried
And badgered Cassie sore.
But her Livejournal was silent
And days stretched into weeks,
Then months passed with nothing
So Bard said, ‘Damn, this reeks’!
‘I’ll write a few for fun’, she thought
‘And see what happens next.
These diaries are too damn fun
With hobbits over-sexed’.
The Secret Journals now born
The saga continued on.
The months passed and hits were few
Maybe the Journals were a yawn,
But then the hits came very fast
And the fan mail then came hard
Her site could not keep up to it
I’ll go ‘dot com’, thought Bard
“Not as good as Cassie’s stuff
but I’ll take what I can get,
‘cause Cassie will not write them,
since the fun’s gone out of it.”
Now Bard hears Rubberducky
Say the Journals are a sham,
‘Oh please Cassie, won’t you finish
the VSDs! Please ma’am’.
Bard posted the link where Cassie
Said ‘no more of this for me’,
But strangely now that link is gone.
‘I never said that’, claims Cassie.
Cassie gave Bard quite a lashing
You dare to say she quits!
You dare to write the Journals!
And post them and get HITS!
You dare to call me ‘Goddess’.
When I am the author keen!
They belong to ME, you see,
(Just ask Pamela Dean)
So Bard removed the Journals
And wondered at this Flame
She just wanted to make people laugh
It seemed an awful shame…
Now listen well, ye fangirls
Listen well to what I say,
It’s only Cassie’s place
To write The VSDs… OKAY!?
So if you want to write some
Be careful and be sure-
That you get Cassie’s blessing
(And DON’T dare be popular).
