Probably not the best post to follow the puppy abuse, but...
...would YOU eat a 7-legged hermaphrodite deer?

More pics of dead deer at [info]wtf_omgz

I knew even before I clicked that link that this would involve my home state. I don't know how I knew, but I knew.

Am I seeing things, or does it have three ears too?

I think that might be a stick or something on the asphalt.

Nah, I'm a vegetarian. *rim shot*

Gawd that's weird. I remember the news story but I had thought he killed it hunting. I wonder if it reproduced first. And how exactly a deer could end up like that anyway. *was not a biology major, obviously*

In people, extra limbs are sometimes the remains of parasitic twins- a second fetus that never fully separated/got reabsorbed at some point. So maybe that's it?

Yeah, judging by the photos, it looked like the deer had a conjoined twin growing out of its hindquarters.

As a wise man once said, "Somethin' about that is just downright unsettling."

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Probably explains the double gonads as well.

I heard about this on the news the other day. I tried to be surprised that he ate it, but yeah. I've lived in Wisconsin my entire life. He could have its hindquarters stuffed and mounted on his wall and I would be unsurprised.

Showed it to my roomie. She wants to know what is in the water.

Poor buck, but that is pretty weird.

Of course not! He hit it with his car. Roadkill is so bruised it tastes awful.

Ew, and it went under the truck, too. If he'd been in a car and just broke the legs, maybe, but ew.

Srsly. Butchering roadkill is almost never worth the effort. Except moose.

Looks like somebody at the nuke plant has been sleeping on the job.

Sure, I'd eat some. "I've eaten 7-legged hermaphrodite roadkill venison!" is a great conversation starter, you know?

"Eat your Soylent Green, kids. You know, when I was a still a young girl, I had to eat 7-legged hermaphrodite roadkill venison. AND I HAD TO LIKE IT!"

"Of course I'll have some of your casserole, honey. I mean, I've eaten 7-legged hermaphrodite roadkill venison before. How bad can this be?"

Also, the ever-popular:

"Have YOU ever eaten 7-legged hermaphrodite roadkill venison?"

Yes. I would totally eat a 7-legged-hermaphrodite deer, just so's I could say that I had.

...although I rather fear that it would be a conversation-stopper rather than -starter.

Am I the only one who saw this and thought of Stephen King's Dark Tower series ? Aunt Talitha and "threaded stock'' immeditely sprung to mind.
