Someone got to see an 85% done preview of Harry Potter: OotP movie. They go through scenes, changes, cuts, and a bit with shipping. Spoilers, of course.

That picture in the upper left corner... DO. NOT. WANT D:
*goes off to eye the Equus promo shots*

*also, still has to see GoF and therefore nothing else substantial to add*

Our prayers were in vain, my friend --- the moustache remains!

Fuck.

Well, more Sirius, less Tonks. . .that's something. Right?

D: DO. NOT. WANT. D:

Well, it is OotP-Tonks. HBP-Tonks is what I'm afraid of -_-

Yeah, OotP Tonks rocked. Knowing how she starts to fail kind of spoils it for me now. At least there's no dysfunctional-stalker foreshadowing in the movie, though!

I especially love the folks who think that Remus/Tonks means Remus/Sirius could never have happened. Yeah, that would be eight different flavours of Bad Decision Time(my younger cousin made a comparison to us when the book came out) instead of just the six that is already is, but a new relationship doesn't erase an old one.

If only!

Is that black boy in the picture supposed to be Dean Thomas? Because I'm thinking "Watchutalknbout, Harry?"

Let's see...

Minimal Ron, overabundance of praise on Emma Watson's eyebrow acting...Yup. Sounds like a Harry Potter movie to me.

I'm just grateful Ron is even in the movie, given how the last couple ones have gone.

I was going to address all the issues I had from the spoilers, but it'd be tl;dr. No fighting with Percy, no swamp from the twins, no big giant brains, no Phineas! No "SNEAK", no Snape's under-roos, no defense from Lily to show what an ass James could be, no ttly gay joint Christmas present—way to kill the puppyshipping, WB! No St Mungos, no Quibbler article (which makes sense as there's also no Rita Skeeter as beetle from GoF), no Howler for Aunt Petunia!

It's like they're going out of their way to take all the fun stuff out. Reviewer Carlos claims that it will be less disappointing to fans than the previous movies, which just proves that Carlos dun' know fandom very well.

And yet, despite the total ruination, I'll probably still go see it...

I thought in movie 4 when Maxime ate the beetle, I took it as an in-joke for the book fans that she ate Rita. I don't think I saw Rita anytime after that scene. I'm probably wrong though.

Maxime ate a beetle at some point? Man, I'm gonna have to pay closer attention next time.

It's pretty much no all-the-little-interesting-details again, isn't it?

Considering how much of the plot from PoA and GoF they still need to address, I don't have much hope.

I'll still pay my seven bucks to drool over Alan Rickman, though. Yow.

And this is why I love you. I didn't have to read the tl;dr. Go you. Haven't seen GoF...no desire to see Order now, either. Percy's the only reason I like the damn books half the time.

Woohoo, that'll be another saved 15 bucks from the movie theater. I'll go to Starbucks instead. *grins*

I predict wank from H/G fans over the omission of all the shippy scenes. And then wank again when movie 6 comes out and all the people who watch the movies but don't read the books start wondering where the H/G came from.

There's shippy H/G scenes in OOTP?

The scene where Ginny gives Harry a chocolate easter egg in the library is undeniably shippy.

For reasons that would be more difficult to explain (probably because they're not actually shippy scenes) many H/G shippers also see shippiness in
- The scene where she calms Harry down when he's worried that he's been possessed (by telling him "lucky you" when he doesn't remember that she had previous experience with possession)
- The scene where she's sitting worriedly in Grimmauld Place waiting for news from her father (based not on any actual action but on the floweriness of her description)
- The scene where she grabs the snitch from under Cho's nose (Harry not actually present in the scene)
- The scene where Ron tells her to choose a better boyfriend next time while looking pointedly at Harry (and we find out that she's chosen Dean)

I gotta ask the OP what series does your icon come from?

It's looks like 'Evangelion' but I hope I've found one of the five other people who watched 'Betterman'.

It's you are talking about this one, it's from Hellsing Ultimate. The character is Nazi Major Montana Max. (I don't know why the author named a German character after a villain from Tiny Toons.)

I remember years ago, way before the Hellsing manga was translated even by fans, my friend asked someone in Japan if Major had a name. And after a couple of weeks they finally e-mailed back and said "Montana Max."

And we were all saying "What the hell? No, really, what?"

Why would they show Harry kissing Cho? That takes the fun all out of it. I liked how they almost kissed in the book and you find out later they really did. That way I can interpret Harry's response of "wet" as "She was crying". Please people, don't give me evidence otherwise!
