Reanimator???
This popped up on my LJ flist today and I thought you folks would enjoy it. The song and flash are about fanfic writers bringing characters back to life and doing things... well, you'll see.

Oh wow, Slayers. Even though they should of had 15 of his clones there. This was cute.

Hah, I only got LotR, HP, and strangely, JtHM, and I've never seen it. I just was like, "... Somehow, it has to be that. I don't know how."

JtHM confused me the most, since it was first and frequent. I was sitting there wondering if there would be any recognizable characters in the damn thing - and lo! Sirius and Boromir appeared, if ever so briefly.

The other window I had open when I browsed to this was a contrived-resurrection fic I was working on. I feel vaguely guilty now.

Stargate/Pokemon crossover in which they start aging backwards, go to another planet and get turned into teenagers, and then after a year, find a way to get back home finally, and turn back to their original age once they get to Earth.

There's going to be a bit of a deux ex machina, I believe, to get around a couple issues. Although I'll do my damned best to figure it out before I resort to that.

There's more, but it sucks, because I was doing it at 4 in the morning and need to rework it.

“How is it that every time you go to another planet, you always seem to find some way to ingest something or touch something that causes drastic problems for us?” Hammond stared at SG-1 with an annoyed look on his face.

“Ah, c’mon, it’s not that bad.” Jack answered.

“Not that bad? On your first trip through, Major Kawalsky had a Goa’uld infect him. Not long after that, you were infected by a disease that turned you all into savage animals. You touched a blue crystal which duplicated you, Colonel O’Neill, you managed to die when you met the Nox, again, Colonel, you were infected with nanites that sped up your aging process, you were brainwashed twice, once by Hathor, you had robotic duplicates of yourselves created on another planet, and this was all within the first year of operation. Do I need to go on? And you, Daniel Jackson, have a tendency to die, or to disappear into another dimension.”

Jack exchanged a glance with Daniel. “He has a point, Danny-boy.” Daniel gave him a look, an annoyed, “it’s not my fault” look, and Jack turned back to Hammond.

“And now Dr. Frasier has informed me that you appear to have ingested some form of a nanite that is reversing your age?” Hammond looked at them accusingly. The team had gone to PX8-334 two weeks ago, and met an alien race called the Hortox, and since then, had been quite clearly aging backwards. Daniel’s hair had returned to its floppy length that it had been when he’d started the program, and Jack’s hair was brown again. Even Teal’c was being affected, although much more slowly. He’d come in and stated “It is strange. I feel more invigorated lately. And my symbiote seems to be aging backwards as well.”

“Well, sir, it seems that the nanite is similar to what we have in our DNA, telomeres.” Sam paused, saw that nobody seemed to know what it was, and continued. “Basically, a telomere is an area of repetitive DNA at the end of our linear chromosomes. It is believed that telomeres affect our aging process. It’s through an enzyme called ‘telomerase’. It’s a complicated subject, but basically it comes down to telomeres dividing and losing a portion of their DNA, something called senescence.”

Daniel broke in here. “Senescence is derived from Latin, the word ‘senex’, which means ‘old age’.”

Sam nodded. “Right. As the telomeres divide and senescence occurs, it limits the division of the cell and that causes aging. It’s been proposed that telomerase could be the key for immortality. See, the enzyme adds DNA that repeats itself on the end of the telomere regions, called telomerase reverse transcriptase. It maintains the stability of the chromosomes. If we could harness the ability of stopping the senescence of the telomeres with telomerase, we could essentially stop the human aging process.”

Jack stared at Sam. “Well, Carter, that’s very… interesting. Would you care to tell us what the hell that means?”

Sam nodded. “Well, basically, these nanites seem to be very similar to telomerase, except they have the quality of not only stopping the fraying of the chromosomes, but actually elongating them, reversing the aging process.”

“And can we safely assume that if we don’t stop this, we’ll eventually revert back into children and then just… what, wink out of existence?” Jack asked. Sam nodded, wincing slightly.

Daniel broke in. “Well, the Hortox obviously have some way of reversing the… reversal of aging.” He paused, parsing over what he had just said. “Otherwise, they would just die.”

“Or they could be like Mork and Mindy’s child, and be born from an egg as old men and women and steadily age backwards.” Jack dryly interjected. Daniel looked over and gave him that same look. “Go ahead, Daniel.”

“Well, let’s assume that they can reverse the aging process. If we go back there and find out, we can probably find a way to stop this.” Daniel finished. Hammond looked at them, considering it.

“Alright. You’ll head back to PX8-334 at 0800 hours tomorrow. Dismissed.” Hammond informed them.

Thank you. :D

Daniel's getting a Sandshrew, because, y'know it digs and is all archaeology for him, Sam gets a Ponyta because I like Ponyta and she used to be a pilot so she must like fast zoomy things, Jack gets a Mankey because it's the crankiest Pokemon I can think of, and just for sheer irony and humour, Teal'c gets a Jigglypuff.

I think that Sam, Daniel, and Jack will get Eevees as well, and ... hm... Sam would evolve it to a Jolteon, Jack would do Flareon, and Daniel would do Vaporeon. I think. Does that fit their character traits, ya think?

Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship . . .

I . . . guess. I'm not really up on Pokemon anymore and I know just enough about Stargate to get myself into trouble.

One suggestion, though. One member of the team shouldn't be affected by the reverse aging process. That doesn't mean they don't get a pokemon, but to me it just makes sense that one of them shouldn't be affected.

Also, I think you would do well at evil plotbunnie. http://community.livejournal.com/evil_plotbunnie/

Teal'c, since he's so old, isn't going to really be affected. His symbiote is also going to help slow the aging process, although they do have to deal with the fact that he is aging backwards as well, just very slowly, and if they don't find a cure, eventually his symbiote will revert back to its larva form and be unable to protect him anymore.

:D :D I actually am downloading the first two seasons of Pokemon just to make sure I know it as well as I think I do. *embarrassed* Because y'know, I have every game through the GBA, sadly, and like, the theme song in 8 different languages. And ooo... *runs to join the community* Wee!

Hey, if you ever want to chat, I'm LaDameFolle on AIM and jiradamister@writing.com for MSN. And Jira_RD on LJ, if you're interested.

And now, I go to bed after finishing the damn Islamic democracy paper. *mutters curses towards the extremists who are HINDERING PROGRESS damnit*
