This could be JF's finest hour
So there's the fannish brouhaha about the LJ TOSings and a big chunk of fandom is in crisis mode and looking for a new home.

If ZR and Robin were to say for once and for all just what they need to make JF a possible home for the people who want to leave LJ and be sure that they won't ever be TOS'd, if they could call for volunteers to help get JF's code up to snuff and tell us the kind of money needed to keep things a little less "robust", I think fandom would be more than interested.

Combined with the idea of an Archive of Our Own, isn't the time right for an LJ clone by the fans, for the fans?

ETA: Beyond being a call for people to buy accounts, this is intended as a call for both [info]system and the JF community to work on making JF a place where fans feel that they're getting their money's worth. JF has some flaws, and it would be nice if we knew what needed to be done to fix them.
