A little HP thing I just noticed...
I've been listening to Harry Potter books on tape while I train up a new EV-trained Pokemon team and I noticed something nifty in Chamber of Secrets that I had never noticed before. This is the only sane place I can think of where people might care that I frequent.

In the scene when Hermione needs to steal ingredients for Polyjuice, Harry has to distract Snape and it says it's like "poking a sleeping dragon in the eye". Has anyone written anything on the connection between that and the school saying, which roughly translates to "Never tickle a sleeping Dragon"?

Clearly someone will tickle Snape to death in DH, right?

It probably means nothing, but I thought it was nifty and I don't tend to frequent HP discussion comms, because hardcore shippers scare me, so I thought people here might be as bored as I am interested.

PS-No spoilers for DH in the comments, please.

Well, Draco's name means "dragon," so perhaps he will be the one tickled to death.

I don't know. I once had an English professor who insisted that Draco's name was referring to the Greek law scribe whose name we get "draconian" from, and not the animal.

Here's something wiki says about that Draco: His admirers "threw so many hats and shirts and cloaks on his head that he suffocated, and was buried in that selfsame theatre". So, Malfoy will be suffocated to death by a flood of fangirls' Hogwarts robes?

Eh. Makes a change from "magically forced to have sex."

Isn't there a tickling curse too? Seriously?

I think Rowling said somewhere that there's not connection between Draco and the school motto.

I've honestly got to say I doubt there's a connection...

No Snape tickling, you think? Pity.
