Because I wasn't sure if clairvoyantwank would accept this (there are very little lulz in this report, unfortuntely):

thevelvetsun has a petition post calling for the LJ team to permenantly suspect the proanorexia comm. Not surprisingly, a lot of people support it.

However, there's a lot of wank brewing in the comments to the separate discussion entry in which defenders of the comm snipe back and forth with people who support [info]thevelvetsun's cause.

And this post makes an argument against shutting down proanorexia.

So you can guess how the rest of the argument is going to turn out.

If that discussion is what I think it is, you'll find it by following the links in this post.

Thank you very much, I had been trying to find it.

It seems, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that the thing about signing posts is mainly due to frustration with the mental-instability (it would seem from the 'furbabies' bit, my sis is the same way about her dog) of this kittenmommy person, correct? So signing posts brings back bad memories of her ridiculous behavior? Forgive me if you like the woman, but this community hardly seems the place the post I read and I have to wonder about the person who wrote it. Talk about wasting time and taking up space. It would seem to me, again only my opinion, that if she felt that strongly about the issue, she should have posted a short something with a link back to her own journal. I know, I'm new here and I don't know how things are done, but this is fandom_lounge, correct?

I realise I was not here for it, so I don't have the emotional attachment - that's probably why I still think it was a tad harsh what was said to that post-er. ::hands up:: Again, only my opinion.

But with the influx of people due to what's happeneing at LJ, maybe a reminder that no everyone knows the protocol yet might be in order.

Okay, I will be the first to admit that I would be the last to think that I would ever have been the first to defend kittenmommy, but no. You are wrong. No. She's not unstable, she's just annoying, and very very earnest, and she doesn't get things. And we have hated on people who sign their posts long before she ever came around, because that, too, is extremely annoying, and a sign that you just don't get things. We know who you are, we can see from your frigging username, we do not have to have it pointed out to us with EVERY. SINGLE. POST. that you make. It's stupid and repetitive and nearly impossible to scroll past, so if you're going to do it, you should at least have the decency to make it entertaining.

You were entertainingly annoying before, but now you're starting to just fail.

Sorry to be bringing you down, but that was a point I was trying to understand that didn't seem to make sense. In fact, it still doesn't, but to each his own.

And here I was trying to be just outright annoying - I'll have to try to curb the entertainment factor.

Point of consideration: Admitting you're deliberately trying to be annoying is not that far away from admitting you're trolling. Which is a really easy way to get banned.
