You know, on a semi-relate topic, that reminds me....I've run across Bible slash before, like with Jesus/Judas and stuff like that. o.O;;

Where does that fit in as far as fandom goes?

I'm still trying to decide how I feel about this one. On the one hand, it might be really cool to look at. On the other, it's only going to encourage more Bible slash, which makes me itch in bad places.

Well, there have been Western comic Bible adaptations for years, so why not, really?

Not that the whole concept top to bottom isn't a little unsettling, but still.

(I would have found it weirder if it had been a manga version of the Qu'ran. I mean, how would that work, exactly?)

Oh, come on, the Bible is so trite. Why can't we have a manga version of Good Omens? It's like the Bible but better, and Gneil and Pterry are much more talented authors than God.

I remember reading the Bible (or at least The Old Testament) in manga form when I was a kid. The Japanese have manga for everything, really; I also learned about the Silk Road and the Russian Revolution from manga. They also did a pretty good quality anime adaptation of the Old Testerment, about kids who time-traveled to those times to witness the events, which I've seen re-run for many years on Christianity-related TV stations in Europe.

Dude, the Bible has *everything* Slash, femslash, het, drama, plotting, battles, several types of female characters, even erotica, etc.

In fact, I'm surprised they didn't come up with Bible manga *earlier*. ;D

That being said, I shipped David/Jonathan before I even *knew* what slash was. ^-^

Dude, I have photos of it on my phone. It's been out here for... well, a few months. Since the last time I decided I needed a bible. I talked myself out of buying it, though.
