X-Files fans
I have a question for you all. Did any of you have websites for The X-Files back in the day or hang around on the AOL chatroom for XPhiles? With the wank starting up for the new movie I'm finding myself curious to find out if anyone ended up here that I knew back then and I didn't know it.

In light of being fair, here is my X-Files website. Please excuse its lameness and the fact that pretty much none of it reflects who I am any more. I WAS YOUNG!
...
And I lost the password so I can't change or delete it.

I did. It's dead and gone now. But man, those were the days...

Back in 1995, I co-ran the X-Files RPG on AOL, then moved on to IRC as #xfsim from 1996-97. Our game was very popular and enjoyable, featured in two Internet yellow page directories and in an article by now-TIME writer Lev Grossman. Ah, those were fun days!

I had a pretty extensive website on AOL/GNN with character profiles, game summaries and simfic, but after a couple of years of good times, the core players went their separate ways as people lost interest with the series or formed other attachments in other fandoms. That old website only exists now on my hard drive, but here's another player's version. It hasn't been updated in almost ten years so I'm feeling really old now.

I occasionally search for my old friends to see what's up, but it's been hard to find them so I have [Unknown LJ tag] for any former players who stumble into LJ-land. And sometimes, when I'm feeling really nostalgic, I indulge my imagination with a reunion game session.

Thanks for the memories!

Oh my goodness, I played in that! It was one of the first things I did after my family got AOL, so I'm guessing I was around in maybe '95 or '96. For some reason my character's partner's name popped into my head while I was driving someplace a month or two back, but now I can't for the life of me remember it anymore.

EEEEEEEEEE! Santa Goren!

I'd tell him I've been a bad little girl, but then he'd analyze me.

I used to hang around the old Fox BBS system. I was such a n00b, but they were nice to me, and taught me how to not be a dingdong.

I used to hang around the AOL X-Files chatroom back in...mmm...probably '96 or '97. I can't remember what my old handle used to be, though. I was most often found in a private offshoot room that was occasionally known as the "Bisquick Room" and other variants; do you remember anything like that? Just about the only detail I remember is that a guy who was very fond of vacuuming was one of the active members.

Oh noes- that was about a year before I came on there. *mourns* I think I was too much of a n00b to the interwebs to be invited to private rooms. I remember one of my handles only because I had it for so long on there- AgtRadar.

I lurked a lot on alt.tv.x-files and its various spawn, and was a member of a bunch of mailing lists--mostly slash- and Krycek-centered--but my only contribution (if it can be called such) to the fandom was that I wrote one (1) X-Files fanfic. It was a Law & Order crossover called "Rebound," pairing Mulder with Ben Stone. I think it's still archived over at Down in the Basement. *checks* Yep, still there.

I'm almost positive I read that piece back in the day. Mainly because I was working on my own X-Files/Law&Order crossover at the time. xD

YES YES YES YES YES

The yahoo group is still up, actually. And there's a defunct LJ community.

I used to be on the official X-Files message board back in 1997-1999, mostly fishing for celebrity wars and fanfics. I think that's where I read my first slash fanfic, as well.

oh my gosh, the x-philes. YEAH, HI. --assuming you mean the message board? I remember I started hanging out around mid-97, a little before the AOL message boards switched format and became ugly and threaded.

I remember reading a little of the message boards but then hanging out in the chat room more mainly because it appealed to my short attention span. xD

I was part of the huge X-Ville wank that went down on alt.tv.x-files. Went by Blackbird back then. Maybe Rhiannon Blackbird. It's been a long time.

I was a member of a huge x-files fan-fic mailing list when I was about 12. It was my first exposure to fan-fic ever.

If my mother had known what I was reading she would have had a heart attack.
